Como estamos trabajando los sentidos con nuestros chicos de cinco años, esta semana hemos elegido este libro sobre cosas que vemos. Abarca el centro de interés de los animales, ya conocido por nuestros alumnos, los que les proporcionará seguridad a la hora de la comprensión de la historia. Hemos realizado unas pequeñas modificaciones, para adaptar el contenido del libro a nuestros intereses. En vez de “What do you see?”, hemos usado “What can you see?” con su respuesta correspondiente, “I can see a …, looking at me”.  La historia les ha gustado mucho, por los colores poco usuales de los animales (a purple cat, …). También les ha gustado el final, cuando aparecen los niños. Esta página nos dio mucho jueg0, ya que la usamos para buscar similitudes entre los chicos y chicas que aparecen y ellos. Así repasamos las descripciones de personas (color de pelo y de ojos).

As we are working on the five senses with our children, this week we chose this book about things we can see. It covers the animals topic, previously known by our kids. Being a known topic will provide them of a good background in order to understand the story. We made some modifications to adapt the book to our didactic interest. Instead of “What do you see?”, we used “What can you see?”, with its answer ,“I can see a …, looking at me”. They loved the story. They got shocked by  the unusual colours of the animals. They laughed a lot!. As well, they liked very much when, at the end of the book, they saw the children. They felt identified with them and we played to find similarities between the picture and themselves. That let us review physical appearance with them (hair and eyes colour)
