Ibaialde's Corner

For the fifth time in a row, and accompanied as usual by Venancio Maisterra and Jose Javier Baile, Ibaialde students travelled to Hungen in Germany in September 2001. As in all the previous trips, Gaby Catena was our bus driver.

Although many of the students had been there before,  they enjoyed it as it had been the first time, especially thanks to Mr. Horstmann‘s well designed plan of activites for our stay there.

Then, a few weeks later in October, we had the chance to pay them back when they visited us in Burlada.

On August 28, 1999, a group of 29 students, 19 girls and 10 boys, from I.E.S. Ibaialde-Burlada left their home towns  and headed for Hungen (Germany). They were going to be the guests of the students from this town’s secondary school. It was the third time that Ibaialde and Gesamtschule-Hungen organized this exchange, and they knew they had a challenge ahead: to enjoy themselves at least as much as their colleagues had done in the two previous years.

We hope you like this visual  summary of the Exchange made. During almost two weeks we had the chance to enjoy lots of activities Mr. Horstmann, helped by all the staff at Gesa-Hungen, had prepared for us.

The trip also included a short visit to Paris and a one day visit to EuroDisney on the return trip.

We hope this video helps to make you realize how useful, and enjoyable for the students, this kind of activities are.

Second School’s Exchange by Ibaialde-Burlada students to Hungen, Germany, from June 20 to July 2, 1998. There Mr. Wolfgang Horstmann had all kinds of activities and visits prepared for us.

We want to thank especially Anabel Bañuelos for her generosity with her time to come with us and make this exchange trip possible.
